uid()

HI
suppose I have the oracle user and its belong to dba group.
but when i m checking uid for orcale its showing
uid=219() gid=20(users) it will create the problem while connecting to database.why its not showing like uid=219(oracle) gid=20(users)after giving the id command.

grep oracle /etc/passwd
grep oracle /etc/group
finger oracle

grep oracle /etc/passwd
grep oracle /etc/group
finger oracle

What are the permissions on the /etc/passwd file? They should be 444 or -r--r--r--

What OS version are you using?
