up2date -dry run

Hello, I'd li,e to do a dry run and capture the output to a file. Would doing a re-direct > /filename send the dryrun output to a file or does the dry run put the output to a file somewhere.

Thanks and points will be assigned.

Re: up2date -dry run

Some live up2date actions are logged in /var/log/up2date; however, for a test run and to make sure you capture everything, I recommend redirecting the output to a file... as you mentioned.

Re: up2date -dry run

Shalom,

Its --dry-run

You care redirect to a file and then use that file for selective updates.

Red Hat 4, won't work in Red Hat 5, up2date is deprecated.
