usermod command is disabled.

Hello,

I am trying to run usermod and getting messages like "usermod command is disabled."

Does anyone know how fix this or enable it?

Appreciate your help in advance.

Regards,

MJ

Re: usermod command is disabled.

Hi:

This sounds like the binary has been replaced by a script that prints the message you note.

What does 'file usermod' report? If it's a "text" file what does 'cat usermod' show?

Regards!

Re: usermod command is disabled.

JRF,

Not sure how to find out if this is really doing it not, is their any way to find out?

echo " It causes system corruption"

I don't want to undo the link and then find out this was put in the place for a reason.

Re: usermod command is disabled.

Either you want to or you dont want to. In any case, you can move this to your test machine to see what its actually doing and check with actual administrators of this machine why this was there.
