/var/adm/sw/save - can I housekeep

I have inherited a system which has a very full /var/adm/sw/save areq.
This is populated entirely by patches installed in Jan 2000

Is it safe to clear thsi down and if so, whatis the best way to do it cleanly.

Thanks

Run the cleanup utility.

cleanup -c 1 will usually do the job.

make sure you have PHCO_22044 or superceededing installed.

Re: /var/adm/sw/save - can I housekeep

Hi:

NO. Do *not* manage any files or directories in /var/adm/sw except via the SD (swinstall, swremove, etc.) tools and the 'cleanup' utility.

To reclaim space in /var/adm/sw, use 'cleanup':

For 10.x:

# cleanup

For 11.x:

# cleanup -c 1

Andy,

Have you looked at the cleanup command ?

It's available on both 10.20 and 11.0

Thanks
