the main problem with me that the /var i can not mount it becouse the /dev/vg00/lvol8 is corrupted i try to fix it useing fsck command in single user mode and multiuser mode and its not work please see the attaches

Solutionbc_read failure is menas fsck unable to read the blocks, and there is bad spot on the disk.
- fsck can not fix this issue, as the portion of the disk is bad.
- you can reduce the lv , create with newfs, mount it , restore from backup and check.

that means i have two solutions
1- i buy a new disk .
2- i use your way to reduce the size of the LV and create a new one
