Re: vg00 backup

Hi,

please follow the steps :--

(1)kmsystem -q stape ( To check tape driver configured in kernel)

(2)Attach a tape
#insf -e

(3)ioscan -fnC tape (check the tape path /dev/rmt/xmn)

Best practice method, stop the SAP appln then

(4) /opt/ignite/bin/make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00 -I -v -a /dev/rmt/xmn ( To take the ignite backup of root vg)

Re: vg00 backup

Assuming you tape library visible to the unix boxes you can do a ignite and ensure vg00 is backed up.

man make_tape_recovery for the relevent switches.

make_net_recovery can be used for remote ignite backups if you have ignite server configured

Re: vg00 backup

Taking Ignite backup can be done, but you need to ensure that the recovery is supported.
