vx_brkrootmir

I have had a number of ocations where I had to ^C out of vxbrk_rootmir as it hangs on
/etc/vx/diag.d/vxprivutil. Has anyone had this before. See attachment.

Re: vx_brkrootmir

Peter,

Make sure that you have the latest VxVM Cumulative patches, vxprivutil hanging has also been fixed by those patches.

Jaime.

Re: vx_brkrootmir

Hi Peter,

VxVM vxdisk ERROR V-5-1-558 Disk c2t6d0: Disk not in the configuration

Are there any error messages in the /var/adm/syslog/sylog.log file during the command execution?

Re: vx_brkrootmir

Hi Robert-Jan, no errors in syslog.log.

I think that error is genearated due to the s2 extention added to the disk when a root disk is added. Removing the disk from rootdg then looks for c2t6d0 and not c2t6d0s2

Re: vx_brkrootmir

OK, the vxprivutil used to hang but on 11.11, but the latest patch for 11.23 added the support for the -D option, and that is where the command is hanging.

This is the patch that you need:

PHCO_37833

Please remember to assign points to the people that is helping you out :-)

Thanks Jaime, sorry took so long to reply I have been away for a week. The patch you metion is for vxvm version 3.5. We are running v4.1 so it does not apply to my senario.
