vx_nospace /dev/root File system full

Good Morning,

I am working with OS 11.11 and have come received this error many times:
vx_nospace - /dev/root file system full.
but this time the system does not allow me to log in to fix the problem. It kicks me out every time.

Please someone tell me that there is a way to at least login so I can fix the file system.

Hi,

Your root filesystem is full. You will have to reboot and stop the boot process. Then boot into single user mode and clean up the filesystem from there.

see if any session open, do a su and delete some files from root file systems, also you can try from console.
see the link below.

You are probably going to have to shutdown and bring the system up in single-user mode and because you can't login to shutdown, your only option is to yank the plug.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Stephenson,

So I can't login even after rebooting and putting the server into Single User Mode.

It fails to initialize.

Will I have to restore operating system
to solve this problem?

You shouldn't have to login if your interupt the boot process and do an "hpux -is"; you will be at the console as user root. If that fails, you will need to boot from your recovery media to do the maintenance on /.
