I have some questions?
1)What is the Maximum supportable size for one VG, one PV and on LV in HP-UX 10.20, 11.11, 11.23, 11.32?
2)what are the parameters that define this?

Re: what is the maximum size for one VG, PV and LV in HP-UX
VG total size = PE size * Max PE per PV * Max PV
**Max size of a PV/LUN if PE size=4 MB:
Our current PE size=4 MB
Max PV/LUN size=4*65535=262140 MB=256 GB

HP-UX 10.20
HP-UX 11.00
HP-UX 11.11
HP-UX 11.23
HP-UX 11.32
And what is the default Max PE per PV when creating a VG.?
can we not change Max PE per PV after creating a VG.?

Re: what is the maximum size for one VG, PV and LV in HP-UX
"Starting with HP-UX 11i v2 (11.23), the supported limits of LVM volume groups has gradually increased. In HP-UX 11i v3 (11 .31), LVM delivers significant performance, scalability, usability, and availability enhancements. After the initial release of HP-UX 11iv3 in February 2007, three updates occurred in September 2007, March 2008, and September 2008. This white paper summarizes the LVM supported limits for different volume group versions supported on HP-UX releases."

Yes, if you are running 11.31 or if you have an 11.23 realease with patches PHCO_38717 and PHKL_36244.
No, if you are running any release earlier than 11.11 .

Re: what is the maximum size for one VG, PV and LV in HP-UX
I have one physical disk with space of 100GB.
I am createing a VG (vg01) using this disk with default PE size (4MB) and Default Max Per PV.
At this situation, will the following parameter be created?
1) PE size - 4Mb
2) Max PE per PV - 25600.
1)Am i correct?
2)Then, this PE size and Max PE per PV will be taken for all othere PV if we are adding future?
3)So in futuer we have to add PV upto 100GB only?
4)othere wise it will be taken only 100GB?
Pls answer one by one.

At this situation, will the following parameter be created?
1) PE size - 4Mb
2) Max PE per PV - 25600.
1)Am i correct? All of the 100gb will be avaialbale to the vg you create(25600x4mb=100gb)
2)Then, this PE size and Max PE per PV will be taken for all othere PV if we are adding future?
100GB is all that VG can use with 25600 max PE settings. Consider using the -s option to specify a different PE size, go for 8mb instead of 4mb, so you will be able to add more disks to the VG later and grow the size of the VG
3)So in futuer we have to add PV upto 100GB only?
You will need to read that document to understand more about VGs
4)othere wise it will be taken only 100GB?
Pls answer one by one.
