where is my internal disk space?

Greetings
I have rx6600 with 4 internal disks, each 36GB. I only see 2 disks on ioscan, diskinfo shows each is 36G. Vgdisplay for vg00 shows two physical vols - though I dont understand what actual physical devices it is using. I am attaching vgdisplay and ioscan info. Where did the other 72G go? I have experience with older HP servers, but not the rx type. Thanks.

your server has an internal hardware basd RAID controller:
ioscan:
disk 0 0/4/1/0.0.0.0.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP IR Volume <<<

disk 1 0/4/1/0.0.0.1.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP IR Volume <<<


So they are probably et up for hardware mirroring, that is why the OS only sees two "disks"

Your disks show up as "IR Volume" type disks. It is likely that a RAID set was created via the internal RAID card on the rx6600.

How that RAID set was created is what you need to find out. There are utilities you can use, but I have no experience with those.

Hi Dave:

You will find this useful to equate the legacy and the agile device files:

# ioscan -m dsf

As for the 'IR Volume' this indicates a hardware raid arrangement. Try:

# sasmgr get_info -D /dev/sasd1 -q raid

Thanks. The sasmgr command tells all. So it looks like it is internally mirrored. I will have to learn how to configure additional disks....
