which forum to post at - confusion

I see lots of posts at this forum that are HP-UX questions. Those list owners are pointing people over here but it seems like you should make both these lists into just one..

here's the list at hp.com

Re: which forum to post at - confusion

This is the correct forum for HP-UX questions. The BSC forum for Integrity Servers should never have been created.

Unfortunately Dennis, ...should never have been created, is clearly not 'would never have been created'.

Sadly the intent seems clear ...

I feel like I should be surprised, but I'm not. I'm just very disappointed.

Re: which forum to post at - confusion

A contributor on the ITRC Forums "Duncan" made this suggestion on a users group....and maybe folks here will follow his suggestion:

".... I can and do forward these sorts of concerns onwards, but if people want HP to change, they need to let them know (and not through your local account team - the message will probably end up getting diluted). If you hunt round on the website hard enough you'll find feedback pages. Here's one that lets you send a message to the CEO:

http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/execteam/email/ceo/index.html

I can't tell you what happens to this, but I do know if enough people send consistently the same message there's more chance of getting a sensible reaction....."

So folks....send an email if you are concerned with the future of the ITRC Forums.
It's worth a try.

Kindest regards,
Rita

I'm glad someone knows the intent. :-)

Perhaps they thought consumers would all have Itanium PCs or workstations and would want to use the BSC forum rather than the enterprise ITRC?

Re: which forum to post at - confusion

Looks like there is 1 post per month in average; maybe it doesn't have an audience.

It was part of the old bsc forum long time ago, I think this was the reason to move it over to the new platform.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: which forum to post at - confusion

Well it confused me....I looked around it & the BSC category - Server/Itanium. But if you post a question about an HPUX Itanium box they point you back to ITRC, and if you ask a question about a Blade server running Itanium with Windows on it, they point you back here.

What is the point of having that topic over there to begin with?

Just too blasted confusing.

Right, there are more threads and knowledge in the ITRC on those topics.

Exactly. Perhaps they thought they would get more questions there?

They also have more PC and printer questions there.
