How is xntpd restarted in HP-UX 11.00 ?

In the /etc/rc.config.d/netdaemons file, ensure that the 'export XNTPD=1' is present.

Then you can /sbin/init.d/xntpd start|stop

The only thing I can add to the above is to note if the time difference is more than 15 minutes it will not sync. I ran in to this once.

I need to check that , I just started it and the system went down. Fortunately it is a test server.

Further to Steve Andrews reply, if the times are more than 15 minutes out use the ntpdate command to force the system into sync:
ntpdate

The system did not go down , it apparently was/is having time sync problems. I will try the ntpdate process , thanks

Command to start Xntpd was successful
