Event Notifier

Hi,
is the smtp (and hence also the iis) service required on a ws 2008 for the event notifier to work correctly?
I experience on a server, that only NIC traps are sent out, all other events plus "Send Test Indication" don't work. The smtp service is not installed.

No, but you will need to configure it to point to your e-mail server.

The Notifier Service isn't used if you're using HPSIM as that relies on SNMP Traps.
