How to configure HP SIM to report or alert 3rd party printer status ?

Hi,

Is it possible to configure HP SIM v7.4 (latest edition) to gather and send periodical report of printer with different brand other than HP ?

If yes what do I need to do ?

If the thirth party printer has a good mib file you can import the mib and see what info you get in the datacollection, this info could be used for reports. Don't expect to much of these report, i would not expect more info than type make and model. Mibs can be added from the gui or commandline. Because some of the building that is managed by my company are using different Printer brand other than HP so I wonder if this also can be monitored.

But yes, does adding MIB to HP SIM can cause any issue to the curent working condition of the HP SIM ?

No problems, these mibs will not give any problems as you don't overwrite any build in mibs
