Version control language/formatting issue
I'm getting this difference between what's installed versus the baseline even thou there are the same.
I suspect it's some kind of regional setting/language formatting kind of thing, but don't know where to change it so they match.
any ideas?

Re: Version control language/formatting issue
Hello,
I've always seen this as a bug, however i've not seen this since the latest VCRM version. I bet that if you look ag the SMH of the concerning server and look at the VCA all looks oke?
What version of SIM and VCA/VCRM do you use at this moment?

Re: Version control language/formatting issue
I'm using :
SERVER SIDE ( SIM, VCRM, etc)
SIM Version
Version: Systems Insight Manager 7.2.0 - Windows
Build version: C.07.02.00.00
Build date: 2013-02-15 19:19
All hoftix until : HOTFIX72_034.jar Monday, 11/11/2013, 12:52 PM GMT-03:00
Version Control Repository Manager 7.2.0.0
HP System Management Homepage v7.2.0.14
CLIENT SIDE (server to check software version)
HP System Management Homepage v7.3.1.4
HP Version Control Agent 7.2.0.0
If I look at the VCA in the SMH of the machine I don't see any dates with slashes (as I see in SIM as "12/20/2013" )
Also I don't see the ROM as "Online ROM Flash Component for Windows - HP ProLiant DL380p Gen8 (P70) Servers (English (US))"
I see it as Compaq System ROM 2013.12.20
Where are those slashes "12/20/2013" came from when everything else is dotted " 2013.12.20" ?
A SIM BUG ?
What do you suggest do I have to upgrade?
All SMH? just VCR ? Also SIM ?
I'd prefer to upgrade the least amount of things, as always I've upgraded something is fixed and something else got broken.

Re: Version control language/formatting issue
I woukd update the VCRM because of your problem and SMH because of the latest open SSL problems. See if that helps. Both server and client side.

Re: Version control language/formatting issue
I've updated SMH and VCR to the latest versions.
HP System Management Homepage v7.3.3.1
Version Control Repository Manager 7.3.1.0
Still the same mismatched versions between "12/20/2013" and "2013.12.20"
I'll try to update to SIM 7.3 now.

Re: Version control language/formatting issue
Hello again,
You could aldo update the WBEM agent, it could be that the WBEM discovery caused this. Be sure to do a datacollecton after the update. I still use the 7.2.2 version and don't have this problem anymore. I used to have this bug but not sure wich update fixed it.

Re: Version control language/formatting issue
I also have the exact same problem with our HP SIM and VCRM.
HP SIM version is the latest one 7.3.0, VCRM version is also 7.3.0.0.
Today, I installed the latest Hotfix (2014_June) but it did not fix the problem.
HP SIM is running on Windows 2012 R2 English version, and the OS uses "English (United States)" format.
Can anyone give me advice?

Re: Version control language/formatting issue
Windows in the SIM system is in english.
I've tried changing Format and location to English of Windows of the target system.
It still doesn't work.
The BIOS string is formatted with "." and another with "/" and reverse order, so I don't knwo what can be.
I don't have bought Insight Manager support, it seemed a waste of money at the moment. Still would be I guess.

Re: Version control language/formatting issue
I seem to be expericing the same issues as the original poster. I'm running the lastest version of SIM/VCA/VCRM and SMH. Has anybody found out where I would need to switch the formating either on the SIM/VCA/VCRM?
Thanks,
