ovcm command on OMW9 - ERROR: Unknown Error.

hey experts, how are you doing?

I'm trying to create a certificate file manually on OMW9 to import it on managed node, but there is a issue when it runs.

H:\>ovcm -issue -file node.cert -name hostname.domain.com -pass 1 -coreid 68df02d8-cee6-7549-13d7-d5a6ce57d84f
ERROR: Unknown Error.

H:\>

This issue has been happened since when the OA was updated from 11.00 to 11.13.

any ideas?

thanks

use ovowcsacm command to issue the certificate in HP OMW9

Re: ovcm command on OMW9 - ERROR: Unknown Error.

Hi..

It is the same. ovowcsacm command just calls ovcm.

H:\>ovowcsacm -issue -file node.cert -name hostname.domain.com -pass 1 -coreid 68df02d8-cee6-7549-13d7-d5a6ce57d84f
ERROR: Unknown Error.
(CSA162) Error: OvOWCSACm cannot call ovcm.

Re: ovcm command on OMW9 - ERROR: Unknown Error.

Hello

What is the ovcm version on the OMW 9.0 server? You can find it using ovcm -version command.

Check the the system.txt file to see if there are any errors reported.

You may also want to verify that certificate server is indeed running properly on the OMW server. Run the command

ovc -status

You can try restarting the certificate server and see if that helps (this involves restarting OMW services as well and so plan this).

If none of these help then you have to trace ovcm process using ovtrcgui tool and see if the trace shows what is going on. If it does not help then you may have to get in touch with HP Support.

Hope this helps.

Re: ovcm command on OMW9 - ERROR: Unknown Error.

Hello

Not sure what you mean by 'secondary' OM server - so is that the server that is responsible for managing the node to which you are trying to issue the certificate? Have you tried the same command from the primary OM server (or the main OM server that is the responsible management server for this node) and see if it makes a difference?

If not then you may have to trace ovcm and ovcs process in the OM server (use ovtrcgui tool in the Support folder) and see if the trace shows anything that could point to the root cause.

You may want to work with HP support on this issue if the trace is not helping you find the potential solution.

Hope this helps.

Re: ovcm command on OMW9 - ERROR: Unknown Error.

Hello..

it was working fine! I used to create the certificate file for managed node, but this issue has been happened since when the OA was updated from 11.00 to 11.13.

I will try to trace ovcm and ovcs.. and then I will let you know

Re: ovcm command on OMW9 - ERROR: Unknown Error.

Hey guys..

Just to let all know.
I solved this case upgrading HPovSecCS from 06.21.002 to 11.10.035.

Also I installed these patches:
OMW_00176
OMW_00178
OMW_00184
