HP Tape Library MSL2024 Error F4 91

Hi Frds,

 

Last one week i had a problem with my tape library, the problem is when I try to run the inventory Library goes to offline mode and log shows the error code “F4 91”.

Sometimes I restart the all the services in the Symantec Backup exec software I get the Library Online mode, but when I change the tape cartridges  again Library goes to offline mode.

 

I try the wellness Test and Diagnose Test both are passed.

HP Library and Drive firmware also updated.

 

While run the New Inventory Library Indicate Error, log shows “F4 91” and Symantec shows Error msg E00005.

 

Kindly help me to short out this issue ASAP.

This looks like the robot has a problem while loading a tape into the drive.

 

You should contact HP support, maybe your library needs to be replaced.

 

 

Is it always the same tape? Try another tape first.

Thx Torsten......
I tried 4 different set of tapes all the sets having the same issue. Wh?error.
I run the wellness test it shows no error.
Is there any other options to conform problem is tapelibrary?

As said, the problem is while loading a tape. This could be the robot or the drive. Do you have another drive installed?

You could try to use LTT http://www.hp.com/support/tapetools if you can pull a support ticket of the library and drive. Then run an assessment test with LTT and pull the ticket again.

 

 

Consider to open a support case at HP. They want to have these tickets too.
