Optimal settings

Here's what we have...

  • Windows Server 2003 R2
  • Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3
  • HP StorageWorks Ultrium 3000 SAS
  • HP LTO5 tapes (c7975a)

The HP items are new to us (hand-me-downs). Currently the system is showing a tape capacity of 1.5TB. I'd like to get it as close to 3TB as possible. Would you have any recommendations on how to optimize that?

You can only get 3 TB if the data is compressible at 2 to 1.  It will depend on the data, not any settings.
