1702 cable error
i have an older proliant ml370 and am trying to attach a scsi tape backup to the scsi port it and i get "error 1702 cable error detected system board halted"
just wondering if any one had any ideas.

Roy,
did you try another cable? Did you check that tape and host's interfaces are compatible (do NOT connect HVD devices to LVD/SE controllers and vice versa). Do NOT connect tapes to RAID controllers - use addon ones with correct interface

thanks for the response. as it turns out the problem is that the external scsi port will not work when the internal #1 scsi port has a cable in it (?). i just unplugged the cable going to that port and it worked. go figure..
