1840 scsi external tape drive

I have a 1840 scsi external tape drive and I would like to know if it is possible for me to purchase a conversion kit to convert the 1840 SCSI external tape drive in to a tape drive that can directly connect to EMC VNX storage?  Or do I just to purchase a new 18040 that is Sans ready?
