2x MSL6060 - single power supply failure leads to FC card reboot
our customer has a problem with the power supply redundacy on two MSL6060.
Situation:
1/ when we disconnected (simulation of outage) lower power supply the NSR is rebooting
2/ when we disconnected (simulation of outage) higher power supply NSR is working properly without reboot
do you have any idea please?

Re: 2x MSL6060 - single power supply failure leads to FC card reboot
In this case each MSL6030 has its own PS and then it is a normal issue if your Fiber card is installed in the lower MSL
A normal MSL6060 has two power supply at the bottom left side

Re: 2x MSL6060 - single power supply failure leads to FC card reboot
when unplug lower PS then NSR is rebooted
when unplug top PS then all is ok and NSR is not rebooted :-(

Re: 2x MSL6060 - single power supply failure leads to FC card reboot
right funcionality is clear:
fully redundance of NSR in case of outage one of the supply.
But what should I do when I don't have this funcionality?

Re: 2x MSL6060 - single power supply failure leads to FC card reboot
This is not normal because a normal MSL6060 has two PS (the one next the other) at the bottom left.
that is not correct
PS are on aech other:
top on left and bottom on the right

Re: 2x MSL6060 - single power supply failure leads to FC card reboot
1- you may have a defective power supply
2- you may have a bad power cable, or a bad electrical grounding
for the second case, I would suggest to check with a voltmeeter the voltage between the ground and the neutral pin and between the ground and the phase pin
you should have > 1 volt in the first case and ~ 220 in the second case. If you found ~110 volts in both case, you have a grounding problem, the same if you have more than a few volts between grounding and neutral.
I recommend to check this directly at the end of the power cable that enter in the library, so you check all including socket and cable.
(these value apply on an european environment where power supply is 220 volts)

Re: 2x MSL6060 - single power supply failure leads to FC card reboot
As you know: safety rules ...
BTW, I know about ~230V and I remember my last contact with this ...
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: 2x MSL6060 - single power supply failure leads to FC card reboot
there was a problem with power supply. CE replaced that and noe is working properly.
What is strange? There was the problem on two MSL6060...the same issue on the same higher power supply....
thanks for hints ans ideas
