Storage Boards Cleanup
To make it easier to find information about HPE Storage products and solutions, we are doing spring cleaning. This includes consolidation of some older boards, and a simpler structure that more accurately reflects how people use HPE Storage.

AHA-2940

Is AHA-2940 SCSI card same as AHA-2940U2W???

Could this the problem why LT&T cannot see the tape backup drive??? Please let me know on any suggestions.

Re: AHA-2940

2940 is a SE adapter http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/suppdetail.html?sess=no&language=English+US&prodkey=AHA-2940 , 2940U2W is an LVD adapter http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/suppdetail.html?sess=no&language=English+US&prodkey=AHA-2940U2W
If your drive is LVD then connecting it to 2940 you may need 50-68pin SCSI adapter cable

Re: AHA-2940

I have Surestore DAT 40e and the 50 to 68 pin connector to my AHA-2940U2W. Will this setup still work because none of the backup software see the tape drive. It is running on Win98SE. Need any help or suggestions.

Thank you

Re: AHA-2940

Go to this link for the correct Adaptec Drivers for your AHA-2940U2W

http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.html?sess=no&language=English+US&cat=/Product/AHA-2940U2W&filekey=7800_fms303_disk1.exe

Check if you can see the DAT40e Tape drive in the boot-up bios scan or use Ctrl-A (Adaptec BIOS setup) device scan option to verify you can see the tape.

... and do not forget that you need a cable with terminator. The drive has no internal termination.

Re: AHA-2940

Thanks for all your help but I found the problem. It was the damn AHA-2940 scsi card. We have a extra scsi card laying around (Iomega) and I just plugged it in and it came up.

Thanks for all your suggestions and help.
