Adding Ultrium 960 drive to MSL6030 Tape Library
Library has SCSI slots on the library enclosure and existing ultrium 460 drive is hot swap one (don't have scsi ports on the drive itselfe).
New drive has scsi ports on the drive itself. Customer has a problem fitting the 960 drive in the library.
We are thinking that maybe the scsi ports from the library needs to be removed in order fo drive to fit, but we are not sure.
We checked on HP site and this model of tape drive is supported with this model of tape library so the drive should fit.
Did anybody had the same problem. If yes what was the solution.
Regards,
Goran

You will enjoy the higher capacity of the LTO 3 tape but you will not be able to reach the LTO 3 Speed specification.

Re: Adding Ultrium 960 drive to MSL6030 Tape Library
Older units have a serial number 6-3 digits and these do not have the scsi connectors and the same sled/shoe for the MSL5000 units.
Newer units have a 5 digit serial number and have the new sled/shoe
