Hi all,
Thanks for the insight you all hv provided wrt to DLT7000 on the A4583A Surestore E 3/30 Tape library.
I have a question though and unfamiliar with how one would classify a separate scsi bus channel. The A4583A is installed in a N class box.
Based on the attachment for the result of the machine's ioscan, where can I attach the DLT 7000 drive (supposing separate bus channel means having an additional PCI SCSI FWD controller) if any are left available?
Thanks for your help.
David

Hi,
in your ioscan i can see no unused SCSI path.
So if you want separate bus channel you have to add a SCSI card.
The other thing is connecting two DLT7000 in daisy chain at one bus.

Re: Adding additional DLT7000 on a A4583A Tape library w 2 DLT7000
Hi there.
We use one interface for one drive.
Otherwise you might run into streaming problems ( Like the idea of daisy chain two drives or so ).
