Attaching a DLT8000 to a RP8400

I have attached a rackmount DLT8000 (C6379-69201) to the core I/O card on a RP8400 but ioscan does not pick it up.

I know the core I/O card is Ultra2 SCSI. Are the two compatible? Am I missing patches or firmware?

I have a A6828 Ultra3 LVD card that I could install into the RP8400. Would connecting this to the tape drive be a better option?

Thanks,

Gary.

DLT8000 (C6379-69201) is HVD (high voltage differential) SCSI device and is not compatible with rp8400 core I/O nor A6828A adapter. You should buy:
- A4800A single port HVD SCSI HBA
or
- A5159B dual port HVD SCSI HBA

Hi there.
Zygmunt is right. The interface you need is also called F/W/D ( Fast Wide Differential ).
Max transfer rate is approx 40MB/sec.

Thanks guys.
I have a spare A4800A card which I shall install.
