Autoloader Off-Line

I have two 20/40GB DAT Autoloaders each connected to a node in a CL380 cluster via Wide Ultra-3 SCSI Adapters.
If I reboot a server node, Backup Exec (on the same node) reports that the drive is off-line, and if I try manually starting the two devices (from the devices applet) the sony7000 device errors (device is disabled).
However, if I power cycle the tape drive whilst rebooting the server Backup Exec still reports that the drive is off-line, but I can then start the two devices (scsichanger and sony7000) and they both start fine. I can then stop and start the Backup Exec services and Backup Exec sees the drive as being on-line and it works fine. This happens on either node.

Has anybody else had a problem like this?
Does anybody know of a resolution?
It looks like some kind of SCSI issue, both drives are set as SCSI id 6 (the bus is not shared in any way and is completely separate from the shared bus used by the cluster).
