Backups getting failed due to error [90:182] Cannot append to medium (Details unknown.)
Backups are getting failed with the error mentioned below. We have upgraded the library firmware from V5.10 to V5.20 based on HP recommendation. We tried replacing the one of the drive which caused this error. The drive was working fine for 24 hours, but now we are facing the same issue in the new drive.
HP DataProtector software support CE has said it is hardware issue. We have enabled the drive based encryption from the HP DP tool end.
Once this error appears, the drive is marked in yellow fron DP GUI and the media used is marked as poor media.
My Environment
Tape Library - HPE STOREEVER MSL 6480
Library Firmware: 5.20
Drive Firmware : 25MW
Backup Tool - HP DataProtector 9.08

Re: Backups getting failed due to error [90:182] Cannot append to medium (Details unknown.)
Can you use the library web interface and pull a support ticket from the drive then post it here?
We really need at least the SCSI sense data to get an idea what is going wrong and the more detailed information in the drive logs would be even better.
