C5713A win2003 slow backup problem

I have this configurations :

-Proliant DL360 G3 with SCSI adaptec 39160 controller.
-StorageWork C5713A autoloader 40x6.
-Win2003 STD edition, Veritas backupExec 9.1 sp1.

i tried the last HP,Veritas,Microsoft driver but the backup speed is 2Mb/min during local/network backup process.

I tried to stop (or not) the RSM service nothing change.

I tried to change the SCSI configuration to ASYNC/8 or ASYNC/16 or SYNC/40, nothing change.

I have update the firmware of the library with Hp LTT, nothing change.

On a DL380 G2 server with Win2000 server sp4 , Veritas 9.0 with this setting the library backup at 280/300 Mb/min.

Help!

I solved the problem.
I have change only the Medium Changer driver (unknown medium changer of Microsoft) and the TAPE working and backup at 350 - 400 MB/min!

The same problem of another Tape ( 40/80 HP autoloader) disappears with installation of original medium changer driver of compaq.

Is this possile?
I must install anyway the Driver of SCSI bus of Hp ?

if your performance now are about 350/400 Mb/min, this mean 5 Mb/s, the native transfer rate of DDS4 is 3Mb/s, so with hight compressibility, you are running as a rocket. I had in the past several case of slow backup with this autoloader and I had to revert to the suggested SCSI driver to solve my problem.

Just be sure to run a consitent backup (al least 10 minuts) or the calculated time will be impacted by the cache\ing.

At this point you can avoid to use the suggested driver for your scsi bus. Just remember that with some compacq service pack this driver could be updated.
