C6366A DDS tape magazine

I am getting this error message every couple days/weeks. I have gone through all the steps that are listed as well as replacing the SCSI cable and the tape unit. I still am getting this error. Could I be getting this error because I have connected the tape drive to the SCSI card in slot 1? Do I need to add a separate SCSI card for this tape drive?

Thanks for all help.

Sorry about the lack of information.
I have an L2000.

Re: C6366A DDS tape magazine

What type of SCSI controller is attached to the tape drive? If you run command # dmesg are there indications of SCSI problems? Has the tape drive been okay anywhere else?

Post # ioscan -fnk to show device paths on your system (will also show conroller info).

Re: C6366A DDS tape magazine

Looks like you have a DDS3 Autoloader with an L2000 series server. According to the compatability website located at:

http://www.hp.com/products1/storage/compatibility/hardware/dat-hp/index.html

You do need an additional scsi controler in the system. Depending on which L2000 series server you have will depend on the PCI slots sharing IRQ's with other slots.
