C7145-8000
were using an HP tape loader, the C7145-8000, due to data growth we want to upgrade the drive to SDLT/LTO, is this possible with the current loader, or do we need to purchase an entire new unit?

Re: C7145-8000
It is possible to upgrade your autoloader to Ultrium 230 only. You only need to upgrade the firmware of the autoloader to 2.20 or higher.

Vince

Re: C7145-8000
There is an upgrade kit provided by HP. The product number is C7768C. Unfortunately I don't know how much it costs.
HTH,
Vince

Re: C7145-8000
Yes of course. This is an HP upgrade. Everything is HP. So the magazine is HP as well, and is appropriate for this autoloader.
Using the upgrade toolkit I mentioned, you should be safe. It contains a drive and an magazine, amongst other things.
HTH,
Vince
