C7747 & Adaptect 2944UW

Should the C7747 1/9 Ultrium Autoloader work with the Adaptec 2944UW HBA? The loader clearly says HVDS next to the interface on the tape module and the card is clearly a HVDS device. But when bringing up the system(a DL380 G2) the tape drive nor loader are seen during the scsi BIOS load or after the system is booted. The loader is the only thing attached to the card and the loader is set to id 0 and the tape drive to id 1 with the card being id 7

I checked the support and it shows a 2940UW being supported and I thought this was just the next one in succession.

Thanks,

C7747 is an autoloader 1/9 Ultrium, you have to check the last two letters of the productname in order to know if it is LVDS or HVD
CB = LVDS AA = HVD
be sure to use a HVD terminator
2940 is LVD
2944 is HVD

2944UW could limit LTO performances

Kevin,
please check product number. I did not find it (C7747) in database. At first look it should work - HVDS library with 2944 HVDS SCSI adapter. You may also check that bus is properly terminated with HVD terminators (not LVD) and you use correct SCSI cable. Please post their part numbers (or what's written on them)

Re: C7747 & Adaptect 2944UW

It's a C7747AA Rackmount LTO 1/9 Autoloader. If you got to partsurfer.hp.com and enter it you find it listed with all it's parts. And now that I look at that about 3/4 of the way down the C6282-82700 724.00 PCI Ultra Wide High Voltage Differential SCSI (HVDS) host bus adapter (Adaptec AHA-2944UW) is listed so it should work with this adapter.

Is listed. The cable part lists a a Keytech USA C6282-61606. The Jumper cable is a Keytech USA C7145-61601

I can't find a part number on the terminator.
