Can't format 110GB tape to be 160GB Capacity

I have ARCSERVE 9.0 running on NetWare 6.0 SP5 and I cannot format a tape that was originally formatted in a 110/220 SDLT drive to the full capacity of 160/320GB in an SDLT 160/320 Tape Drive.

Tech Details:
ML-530G2 with internal SDLT-II drive (160/320)
4GB RAM
NetWare 6.0 SP5
ARCseve 9.0

Has anyone found a way to resolve this? Thanks.

have you tried an erase with arcserve of such a media?
Should the arcserve erase non work, try an erase with an external SW

Good Luck

We have tried every type of erase and format that ARCserve has available to it. Nothing works.

Have you tried with a different piece of SW?
Have you checked ArcServe for netware Patches?
Have you tried in a different system (assuming you can find one)?
As far as i Know there's an erase function in Veritas Backup EXEC too. I'm sure you'll find several software tools that do the same.
