Change c7200 from AL_PA to Fabric

Hi

I need to change the library's drives to connect with Fabric instead of AL_PA.
But in "Administration - Change Config - Level 1 Fibre Card", I can only change an index number and SOFT/HARD. What is SOFT/HARD here? How can I change to Fabric mode/F-port? On the brocade switch I tried "portcfggport 14, 1", portdisable/enable, but thereafter the drive cannot connect. So I changed it back, and it logs in again with:
port 14: id N1 Online L-Port 1 public

Could someone please help me change this? We seem to be unable to restore due to this problem.

C7200 6/60 library with 4 Ultrium1

I assume Level 1 and Level 2 are the 2 FC-cards in the library.

Hi TOnny
You should log via web admin, or telnet,
then you go on the FC configuration and you set to "Soft", after the first reboot, the FC card will log on the Fabric, no other steps are requested.

Thanks, this certainly changed the mode on the switch from L-port to F-port.
I changed on the front-panel, as the weblogin does not work. Then turned of the library, then back on again.
Afterwards all devices has changed. Had to change both the picker device and update devicefiles on all attached (hp-ux) servers, and change the device config and picker within omniback.
