Compaq 20 / 40 DLT drivers for Arcserve2000

Has anyone had any luck finding drivers for an External 20 /40 DLT Compaq Tape Drive that works with Arcserve 2000. I installed Arcserve hoping that it would see the DLT drive, but no luck. I checked the Compaq CD's for drivers and didn't find any there either.

Does the drive show up during the server POST? That drive is on the Arcserve 2000 compatibility list. Do you have the latest supported firmware (D579 or D887) and Arcserve service packs installed? If so, I would contact Computer Associates.

Do check the drive firmware:

Latest Tape Options ROMPaq

But otherwise, the drivers would probably be in Arcserve itself.

load this Compaq 32-Bit SCSI Controller Driver for Windows NT 4.0 from here http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/locate/7_1116.html#5 then install the NT4 tape drivers for the tape icon in the control panel. Reboot and Arcserve 2000 will see the drive. This one got me for 2 weeks! :) good luck
