Compaq 40/80 GB DLT and Solaris

Hi All,

We have a Compaq 40/80 GB DLT Backup drive (SCSI) and We want to install it in Sun Solaris Enterprise Server , Does that Storage UNit support Sun Solaris System?and If it possible , how can I install?

This is very important for us.

Hi,
You can try to use this drive as a ordinary Quantum DLT.

How are you going to use this drive, with standard OS features (as tar or cpio) or with a backup application (as OmniBack). If standard OS you can try ordinary install (I don't find instructions for DLT8000 but I don't think it is different from DLT7000).
