Compression is not getting on IBM Drives

Hi All,

I have installed EMC Networker 7.3 on HPUX 11.11, and configured for taking online backup.
Tape Lib : Quantum Scalar i500
Drives: Ultrium 3
Connectivity : SAN

Issue: Am not getting comression on any of the Ultrium 3 drive, only 400GB is getting backed up and the speed also very slow Max 25MB/s.

Is there any special settings to be done on HP OS side to speedup or enabling compression.
I am using BESTnb devices to do backup.

Regarding the capacity:
The 2:1 compression is marketing only, if your data is not compressable (like binaries) you won't get this.
Regarding the speed: How is the drive connected?

This is was an upgrade, where customr have existing LTO 1 and in that he is getting 2.5:1, so tht means the data can be compressed.

Also the drives are Native FC.
Connected via Brocade SAN switch
