Configuration Options
I have purchased a new TL891DLX and am wondering if I have different configuration options. I have four servers connected through a FC-AL switch to a SAN and 3 servers that are not connected to the SAN. My dedicated backup server is not connected through fibre. The tape library is connected to a MDR and the MDR is connected to the FC-AL switch. What configuration would give me the best speeds for backup?

Re: Configuration Options
The ideal solution would be Veritas Backup Exec on each server directly connected to the SAN, this requires the shared storage option. Then the remote agent on the servers not connected to the SAN, with Version 8.6 you can specify the network the backup traffic should passover. Depending on the number of drives in the library you may need the Library expansion option.
There are of course other Backup products, but I use Veritas, and it works.
