DAT160 USB External not performing ANY hardware compression

I just got off the phone with HP Support.  First the technician told me to go buy another backup software package to test the drives compression, when I told him that would not happen then the technician told me it was not HP's problem.  If the HP L&TT compression test claims hardware compression then the hardware works and the software is not their problem, contact the manufacturer of the software.

I do not think I will be recommending HP anymore.

As Vernny mentioned above, some data files can't be compress farther.  What type of data were you trying to backup?
