DEC TZ89 Tape Drives

Anyone had any problems installing TZ89 tape drives onto HP9000 server. My drives are installed but I get i/o error when trying to access. ALL help is appreciated.
It' not over until the fat lady sings!

To my knowledge, these tape units are not supported on HP-UX systems.
However, it may be worthwhile starting with basics, checking cables, termination, hardware etc.
It would also be a good idea to ensure you have fairly recent patches for things like the SCSI drivers, Tape drivers etc. by loading the lates Patch Bundle.

Install specific patches if need be. Goto /dev, run insf -e.
Relink your Kernel, this will reboot your system. Then check if your tape has been installed.
