64-Bit/133-MHz Single Channel Ultra320 SCSI HBA G2 374654-B21
For the DL380 G4 ans an Autoloader 1/8.
(from the quickspecs... " http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12028_na/12028_na.html#Options " )

Re: DL380 G4 and storageworks1/8 tape autoloader 232
I think you are right, i read some documentations on the server DL380 G4 and HP recommanded this HBA. But in the user guide of the autoloader, i discover that we need HBA ultra 160 LVD/SE.
What do you think about this?

Re: DL380 G4 and storageworks1/8 tape autoloader 232
I think the HBA Ultra 320 is recommended for autoloader 960. Below the link of Quickspecs of the autoloader:

Re: DL380 G4 and storageworks1/8 tape autoloader 232
I also have a similar problem.
My ultium 960 1/8 autoloader gets picked up by the OS/HP tape and library tool/backupexec as a stand alone drive "HP LTO Ultrium 3 drive".
I've already plugged it to another raid controller (smart array 6400 raid controller) but I get the same result.
Any ideas anyone?
Could the autoloader be faulty?
Thanks

Re: DL380 G4 and storageworks1/8 tape autoloader 232
SmartArray controllers do not support tape libraries at this time and a full SCSI controller is required.

64-Bit/133-MHz Single Channel Ultra320 SCSI HBA G2 374654-B21
ok to use with the 448 autoloader, i know it says Ultra160 SCSI LVD/SE on the autoloader spec but is the Ultra320 SCSI LVD/SE a better unit?
