DLT 40/80 GB Drive Goes Offline
I had an issue today where my internal dlt 40/80 gb tape drive goes offline and the backups fail. I check the event viewer and seen error about failed to load qic117 becasue device does not exist. I dont know why this driver loads cause its disabled in the devices in the control panel. I updated the bios on the server , updated bios on the raid card and rebooted server. After rebooting the server everything seems fine but i see a new error in the event log stating this:
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
cdlt8n4i
I dont knwow what this is and why it failed. I also would like to know if there is a way when a drive goes offline to bring it back on line without rebooting.
Any help will be appreciated.

Re: DLT 40/80 GB Drive Goes Offline
Dan,
it's not recommended to connect tape devices to RAID controller. Please use HP recommended HBA from the list at http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg50063.html .
You also may download HP Library and Tape Tools from http://www.hp.com/cposupport/information_storage/support_doc/lpg50128.html and diagnose your drive
