Hello
I wanted to know if I could use a DLT library with the command tar. I tried to just use the device name /dev/rmt/2m and it told me that it could not open the device. We are able to use the DLT Library through Omniback but I am not able to use it with tar. Can I use the DLT Library with tar. Thanks and have a nice day.

Solution
yes you can use tar BUT you have to insert a tape into the drive.
Controlling the library can be done with the OB tool
uma
or with the HP-UX tool
mc
Have a look at your OB device config what device is used for the robotics (picker).
You can use this device with the mc command.

Re: DLT 7000 1/8
Thanks so much I used mc. I did not know about the mc command. Thanks again.
