What are the symptoms of the drive? Any LED's on or flashing?

If firmware update does not resolve problem, then the drive needs to be replaced.
Seeing as it is a DLT 8000 drive, it is problaby out of warranty, but is eligible for the defective exchange program if you are in the USA or Canada. I do not know if this is available in other countries outside North America

Thank you for response, the drive is OK, no flashes, firmware reflash did not help, so how to clear it?
