DLT VS80 external, rejects all cartridges.

We are running W2k Server 2003,
and backup with Microsoft Backup program.

The drive was working fine until a few days ago!

Any catridges, new, previously used or cleaning tapes are rejected. And I dont understand why? :(

I have tryed to restart the server,
tryed to turn off the VS80 many hours,
tryed the cleaning tapes. Nothing works.

Please help us. We really need our backupdrive.

can you please clarify rejects.
Does the drive eject the tape straight away or does it load and then eject?
Does the tape load, but is not recognised by the drive as writable?

Maybe the drive have the tape approx 1min and then the drive eject the tape.

can you collect a support ticket form LTT and attach it here?
We will see probably what is the cause.
Can you explain what you changed between the moment when it was working and now?

If you write how, I hope I can fix that to you.

I changed nothing. :( Only changed tape.

you will found easy to use, for test and to create the support ticket ( button on the top of the window)

you said you just replaced the tape, is it the tape media, or the tape drive?

I downloaded the program. And the program says that there was a new firmware to download. I downloaded the firmware and WOW!
The drive are running what I can see!
Will try to do a backup tonight. :))

how did the backup go?
Am suprised that the firmware was wrong, as the drive had been working before. Was there anything that was changed?

The drive working fine now! Dont understand why and how. But I´m really happy! :)
