DLT1

hi

I have a HP BENCHMARK DLT1 tape drive.i know that the catridges which were used with HP SURESTORE DLT80 won't work with DLT1. what is the format difference between the caridges used by these products and how to find out ?

I dont have the techie answer in detail..
but..
the DLT1 has a lower coercivity, meaning narrower "finer" tracks -- not so heavy clumbsy writing as the DLT7000/8000 counterpart. Thus not able to get rid of prewritten "deep" tracks. Then you would need electric magnet to randomise particles again (a degausser)
