DLT7000 1/15 Tape Library (A4851A) for NT4.0

I have an HP 15 slot DLT 7000 Tape Library (A4851A) currently connected to our HP L2000 (HPUX 11.0) server.
With the proper Differential SCSI card (such as an Adaptec AHA-2944UW) can this unit be connected to an HP Netserver LH3 running NT4.0?
If so, which is the correct driver?

Dan,

You will find the NT4.0 drivers at the following URL:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNum=A4851A&prodName=hp+surestore+e+tape+library+model+2%2F15&locale=en_US&taskId=8415&prodSeriesId=64036&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesName=hp+surestore+tape+library+model+2%2F15&taskName=download+drivers+%26+software#Microsoft%20Windows%20NT%204.0

The following URL is the users manual:

I believe there should be no problem using the AHA HBA with this unit. However, I believe you will require two, one for the robot and one for the drive. Look at your current configuration on the L-Class to determine this.

Thanks Dave,

I looked at the supported devices in the L&TT readme file and did not see the DLT7000 1/15 listed. Does this hardware go by a different name in the NT world? An educated guess would be the Surestore 7115 - does anyone know if this is the same library?

As for the SCSI adapters, one should do as the robotics and drive 1 are internally connected to the first bus.

As this was originally a Unix device, will I have to change the firmware for NT?

This should be a support configuration, and there are no firmware differences between HP-UX and NT.

Yes, the Product ID is different between Surestore E and Surestore, but the product is pretty much the same.

The differences you may run into though are the support contracts. Support is provided differently for products on NT and HP-UX.
