DLTape Flashing Orange
Hi,
I want to backup data with this command :
dd if=datas.tar of=/dev/rmt/c7t1d0BEST bs=1024
but I have I/O error message.
If i do an ioscan, I do not see it but special files are in /dev/rmt.
All lights on the left are flashing orange !
Software or Hardware problem ??
I need some help !
Thank you
Laurent

Re: DLTape Flashing Orange
Hi Laurent, all lights flashing on the left is normally a sign of hardware error. You can try doing a power cycle for the DLT and see if the drive resets, so the lights go out and just the operate handle light come on, on the right side. If this is OK then load a tape. The next problem is what system are you running this on?
If it is a 'K' box then it has to run on an HSC controller and not an HP-PB.
hope this gives you something to go on
