Dat 40i

Trying to set up a LC2000 server with windows NT4 and a DDS4 (dat 40i) tape drive, all connected and works fine if running 2000 but NT4 4mmdat nor HPDat tape drivers will load, have tried re-installing drivers, SP6 and various other things, HP support cant help and MS will for ??200, anyone got any ideas.

Dat drive is connected to internal scsi, 2 scsi disks connected to Netraid 1M card.

nothing else connected.

thanks

Paul Owen

PS the tape library thing wont support the tape drive either even though the docs say it does so cant upgrade the firmware or anything like that either.

Re: Dat 40i

Dear Paul,

I am not quite clear if you are running Windows 2000 or NT 4. I am assuming you are now running NT4. Firstly you should watch the screen on boot-up and confirm that the SCSI BIOS reports the DAT drive. Could you describe the driver loading problem in more detail.

Am I correct in understanding that everthing ran well on Windows 2000

Re: Dat 40i

system sees the drive at a hardware level.

when running win 2k drive works and backs up ok.

when running nt4 sp6 the driver does not load for the tape.
