Dat drive re-calibration

hi,

I have HP surestore Dat drive 1537A.
While testing the with HP tools and utilities, in test results i found that Drive need to be Re-calibrated.

How to do re-calibration?

Can anyone help me out..pls

Call HP Support. They will do it for you.Actually you need some instrument which will not be available to you.

Ganesh,

The recalibration script is intended to be used by HP Support. Typically they will verify your drive is a candidate for recalibration, and then will instruct you on how to use the script included in LTT.

Recalibration is a process to more optimally match the write current of the write head with dirve head and the media you use.

I downloaded it from HP site and Calibrated Drive successfully.

The recalibration script is part of the HP L&TT diagnostics software. It can be downloaded at http://www.hp.com/support/tapetools.

It is important to note that we strongly discourage users to run this script on their own (that is without guideance from a HP Call Center Engineer), due to the possible side effects this script can have.

You can run the 'Device Analysis' test for the drive on your own. If it indicates that a re-calibration is suggested, please contact HP support and they can walk you trough the process.
