Data Protector Express SSE hangs
We have problems with Data Protector Express 3.50 installed on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with HP 1/8 G2 tape autoloader and HP LTO Ultrium-3 Tape drive.
First we installed Data Protector Express 3.50 SP1. It has been working for two weeks with no problem (even tapes had no bar code labels), until, during the execution of backup job, it reported that on one disk there is not enough space for snapshot. After that, when service starts, dpwinsdr.exe uses 100% of one processor thread and DP is not responding anymore.
So we performed complete removal of DP 3.50 SP1, uninstalled LTP Ultrium-3 Tape drive from Windows, rebooted server and installed Data Protector Express 3.50 SP2. When service first started, it reported this error in log file:
AM Ldr: Failed to initialize loader HP Ultrium 3-SCSI (Serial Number HU10738AMN) (Error 1614: An internal loader inventory control structure is not setup)
AM Dcs: Detected tape alert. Count: 3, Alert code: 4167, Severity: 1, Error message: TapeAlert - Information - Unreadable Bar Code Labels
AM Dcs: Detected tape alert. Count: 13, Alert code: 4160, Severity: 2, Error message: TapeAlert - Warning - Library Illegal Operation
but it was working, it recognized tape autoloader, we performed a tape format, created a backup job, and DP was working regularly until it was time for first backup job. Then the same thing happened: dpwinsdr.exe uses 100% of one processor thread and DP is not responding anymore, with this message reported in log file, the same message every minute:
AM Sup: Handle not put type: 00040001 desc: Sup: Connection count: 1
Now, every time after Data Protector Express service is started, this message is reported in log file:
AM Ldr: Failed to initialize loader HP Ultrium 3-SCSI (Serial Number HU10738AMN) (Error 1614: An internal loader inventory control structure is not setup)
DP Express Hang with high CPU usage. Service can not be stopped.
When DP Express service is not working, HP StorageWorks library and tape tools can control the tape autoloader, and tape autoloader does not report any problems.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Data Protector Express SSE hangs
Try installig SP2 if that doesn't work try calling us 800 633 3600 opt1, opt2 then say "Storage" then "autoloader"
